Insulating your crawl space keeps your home energy efficient. Insulating a crawl space consists of installing insulation in the sub-floor of your home. If you opt for encapsulation it is highly recommended to at least insulate your crawl space. Insulation keeps cool air and heat from being lost through the floor.

In a crawl space, a dehumidifier can prevent the growth of mold and improve air quality. This will be helpful if someone suffers from asthma or allergies. Placing a dehumidifier in your crawl space can also prevent structural damage caused by excessive moisture; this could include insect damage, rust, or wood rotting.
